The group vision

"To provide a sustainable community centre for the local area, with an emphasis on providing sporting facilities to focus on improving physical and mental health, providing educational support primarily but not exclusive to health & nutrition, caring for and improving the environment"

To achieve this, we aim to :

a) Agree with High Peak Borough Council (HPBC), and Derbyshire County Council (DCC) to transfer the land and building to GCG CIO as part of a community asset transfer (CAT). A Charitable Incorporated Organisation has been set up.

b) Get contacts in place for existing organisations, and develop relationships with new ones.

c) Provide accessible & affordable sports facilities and programs for people of all ages and abilities.

d) Offer educational resources and workshops to promote healthy lifestyles, well-being and personal development.

e) Promote sustainable practices and environmental awareness without the community and beyond.

f) Foster partnerships and collaborations with local and international community groups and centres, to maximise impact and reach.

g) Continuously innovate and adapt our services to meet the evolving needs of our community.

Targets and outcomes

The aim of the project is to provide and welcoming centre regularly used by the community. A centre enabling all generations to meet, share, support, and take part in their community.

Volunteers will be recruited and encouraged with procedures in place to provide training and work experience opportunities.

Opportunities will be in place to enable progression within the organisation. We will encourage everyone using and attending the venue to get involved at all levels.

Membership will be monitored and encouraged to ensure strong community involvement.

Success of the project will be monitored by conducting regular surveys, recording the number of people using the centre for what reason / purpose. Levels of isolation and social inclusion within the community will wherever possible also be used to asses the performance of the project.
