In the Community
Gamesley FC players joined in with the 'Road to the World Cup' challenge to raise money for upgraded pitches to train on and inspire future generations of players.

Memorial matches
Following tragic losses in the Gamesley community, Gamesley FC held matches paying tribute to those who have passed away. In March, the team held a minute of silence and laid a flag and wreath to honour local schoolboy Harlow McVey.
In July, the first Matthew Barry Memorial Cup was played against FC Glossop, alongside a fundraising raffle and football shirt auction to collect donations for Matthew's young family.

Gamesley Community Group and Gamesley FC are incredibly grateful to be working alongside The Tomorrow Project, supporting individuals and communities with suicide prevention and providing support for those who have been bereaved by suicide.
The Tomorrow Project attended a recent home game to listen, talk and support fans.
Their work is about promoting health and recovery, reducing isolation and distress, raising awareness and helping people develop the confidence and skills to support themselves and others.
Sometimes starting a conversation is the hardest part. Having support available in familiar community spaces can make that first step a little easier.

Behind the Scenes
Big thanks to everyone who helped with digging the ground out for our new nets. The club would be nothing without the community members who dedicate their time and hard work to moving the team and facilities forwards.

Big thanks to Deggy and the kids from the holiday activity camp for smashing this spray painting project on the container at Melandra Park. Also shout out to Ant Thornhill and Kieran Cartwright for giving the container a new lease of life for the new season ahead.
